المعنى الاصطلاحي :

A surname for the Khawarij, who rebelled against the legitimate ruler who was widely accepted by the Muslims, claiming that they had sold their souls in return for Paradise.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :

“Shurāh” (sing. shāri): sellers. It is one of the names of the Kharijites, who were called thus because they said: "We have sold our souls to Allah, fighting in His cause and being ready to kill or be killed." This surname is also said to be rooted in their extreme resentment of the Muslims.
