الشرح المختصر
Shawwaal (10th lunar month) is the month that follows Ramadan; its start is validly asserted by sighting its crescent or when Ramadan completes 30 days. The first day of Shawwaal is "Eid-ul-Fitr" (festival marking the end of Ramadan) for the Muslims. It is prohibited to fast on that day. The Eid prayer is held in congregation on the first day of Shawwaal, and it is then that the time of giving out Zakat-ul-Fitr ends. Shawwaal is the first of the months of Hajj (pilgrimage).
