Swimming and moving through the water.
"‘Awm" (swimming): The scholars made a distinction between "sibāhah" (swimming) and "‘awm", saying that the former is moving on top of the water without immersion in it, whereas the latter refers to moving through it along with immersion in it. "Sibāhah" is also said to be done by non-humans, while "‘awm" is done by human beings.
"‘Awm": swimming, moving through the water with a straight body.
