التعريف :


A group of Muslims who have force, stage a rebellion against the ruler or his deputy, with the purpose of removing him. Alternatively, they declare their disobedience or withhold some duty. They do all this citing a pretext or justification.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


A group of Muslims who challenge the authority of the ruler based on a plausible interpretation, and they have supporters and a fortified place to take shelter in.

الشرح المختصر :


"Bughaah" (rebels) are a group of Muslims who have rebelled against the Muslim ruler and ceased to obey him, believing that they are upon the truth and that the Imam is upon falsehood, justifying their attitude on a defective interpretation and assumption. They can only be called "bughaah" if they have power (supporters) and a fortified place where they take refuge in.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :


"Bughaah" (sing. baaghi): transgressor, oppressor. Original meaning of "baghy": exceeding the limits.
