التعريف :
A state of sadness, despair and inability resulting from the failure to achieve a goal one has set for oneself.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Invalidation and rejection of a deed (by Allah Almighty).
الشرح المختصر :
"Ihbaat" (invalidation/rendering worthless) of deeds occurs due to many reasons, including "kufr" (disbelief), "bid‘ah" (innovation in religion), abandoning the ‘Asr prayer, haughtiness, mocking or disliking any part of the religion, and the like.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Ihbaat": annulment, invalidation. Derived from "habt", which means an animal eating so much fodder that its belly swells and then dies.
