A person enters into a state, with intention, during which certain restrictions apply to him, making forbidden things that have been lawful before.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
The intention to start the rituals of Hajj or ‘Umrah.
الشرح المختصر :
"Ihrām" (entering the ritual state) means the intention to start the rituals of Hajj or ‘Umrah. This means that certain things that were lawful for the pilgrim become unlawful for him, such as hunting, having sexual intercourse, wearing perfume, and so on.
