المعنى الاصطلاحي

Hating the blessing of Allah that is bestowed on others or wishing it would disappear.

الشرح المختصر

"Hasad" (envy) is from the bad morals and the serious mental diseases in society that Islam has waged war on through all the Messengers, for the envious one is an enemy of the blessings of Allah and objects to Allah's will. "Hasad" is when a person sees a blessing from the blessings of Allah on His servant and hates that, wishing it would go away. "Hasad" is of various levels: 1. One wishes that the blessing is removed from others, even if it does not come to him. 2. One wishes for the blessing to leave others and come to him. 3. One wishes for a blessing, and if he does not get it himself, then he wishes it is taken away from others.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر

"Hasad": disliking the blessing that Allah bestowed on other people and wishing it would be taken away from them.

التعريف

The desire that a blessing God has given someone else to be removed from him and given to the envious person.
