A term indicating relative generalisation, as all its individuals are included under a more general term, or main category. Thus, the main category is indicated whenever it is present, but the subcategory is not necessarily indicated when the main category is present. For example, the Khazraj is a subcategory of the Anṣār, which is the main category. Whenever a person belonging to the Khazraj tribe is present, the Anṣār is present, but when an Anṣārī person is present this does not necessarily indicate the presence of the Khazraj.
