A prayer that is performed in a specific manner during times of fear, such as in the presence of the enemy, while fighting the enemy, and in similar instances.

الشرح المختصر

"Salāt al-Khawf" (prayer of fear) is a prayer performed in a specific manner due to fear, whether during fighting or otherwise. It was prescribed in the battle of "Dhāt-ur-Riqā‘" in the fifth year after "Hijrah" (emigration). There are numerous forms and manners for performing the prayer of fear that vary according to the situation involved and what is best for security and self-defense.
