Foretelling the unseen by drawing a line on the ground, casting pebbles, etc.
"Tarq" (a form of divination) is a type of divination used to know matters that are unseen to people, whether it is an absolute unseen, which is hidden from everybody's knowledge, or a relative unseen, which is known to some and unknown to others, by means of looking at a line, whether drawn on the ground or on the sand, at a hand, or a cup, etc. It is also done by casting pebbles, which results in making certain patterns that indicate the future occurrence of a benefit or a harm, as they claim. "Tarq" is a type of major polytheism because it involves transgression and transcendence against Allah's right of being the exclusive owner of knowledge of the Unseen.
"Tarq": drawing a line. Original meaning: knocking on something. Other meanings: throwing pebbles, which is one type of divination.
A term referring to the multiplicity of scholars stating the views of the founder of a school of fiqh. It also signifies that scholars differed in how they reported these views.
