The opposite of ‘the distant’. This is one of God’s fine names. God’s closeness to his servants is of two types: a general closeness to everyone as he knows, sees, watches and covers them all. He is closer to everyone than their jugular veins. The other type is a special closeness to his devout servants who respond to him and appeal to him. It is a closeness that ensures his love, support, acceptance, answering their supplication and rewarding their good deeds.
