A bridge where the believers will stand after crossing the Sirāt (bridge over Hell) for exacting retribution regarding the injustices that took place between them in the worldly life.
"Qantarah" (the bridge to Paradise) is where Allah the Almighty will exact retribution regarding the injustices that took place between the believers in the worldly life. This retribution is different from the first one that will occur on the place of gathering on the Day of Judgment. The goal behind it is to remove any rancor, grudge, or envy from the believers’ hearts. So it serves as purification and refinement for them. This is because the people of Paradise will not enter Paradise except after being in the most perfect condition. There is a difference of opinion among scholars with regard to the nature of the "Qantarah". It was said that it is part of the "Sirāt", and that it is its edge which is connected to Paradise. Another opinion suggests that there are two "Sirāts", however, the "Qantarah" is a special "Sirāt" for the believers, and none of them will fall from upon it into Hell.
"Qantarah": a bridge, high construction; which is built above the water to pass over it.
- a separate line between heaven and hell.
