Any substance in a fluid state.
"Mā’i‘" (fluid) is a liquid substance that necessarily flows through a passageway, the flow of which is often impossible to stop. It is also defined as: a substance whose particles move closer to one another when any amount of the "mā’i‘" is removed; its molecules move closer together without a separation of the mass, like honey, oil, and the like.
"Mā’i‘": things that are liquid and molten, like ice when it melts. Derived from "may‘", which means moving and running.
Liquid which is thought to allow the spread of impurity, and cannot be purified.
