الشرح المختصر

"Mudtarib" (inconsistent/unsettled Hadith) is a kind of rejected Hadith. It is narrated in different contradictory versions that can never be reconciled. However, these narrations are equally strong in all aspects, but cannot be weighed against each other in any way. This inconsistency could be the result of a single narration that is reported in different ways or a group of narrators, each reporting the same Hadith in a way that contradicts that narration of others. "Mudtarib" is two categories: "mudtarib" in terms of the chain of narration and "mudtarib" in terms of the text.
