المعنى الاصطلاحي :
The voluntary prayers that Allah legislated as extra to the obligatory prayers.
الشرح المختصر :
"Tatawwu‘" (voluntary prayer): the extra or supererogatory acts of worship that are done in addition to the obligatory acts of worship. These include the voluntary prayers, such as "Qiyām al-Layl" (voluntary night prayer) and the "Duha" (forenoon prayer), which are done in addition to the obligatory prayers.
