التعريف :
To act in obedience of God, with enlightenment, hoping for his reward, and to refrain from disobeying him fearing his punishment.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Placing a barrier between oneself and Allah’s anger and punishment, by fulfilling His commandments, and avoiding His prohibitions.
الشرح المختصر :
"Taqwā" (God-consciousness/piety) is to be cautious of the punishment of Allah by His obedience. It can also be described as: to protect oneself from what causes the punishment of Allah by committing prohibitions or abandoning obligations. It has also been described as: a quality in the human being which leads oneself to fulfill Allah's commandments and avoid His prohibitions.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Taqwā": a barrier between two things. "wiqāyah": protecting, fencing, safeguarding, and keeping from the harm.
