the Life-Giver (الـمُحيي)

The one who gives life to a lifeless sperm so that it produces a living human being. He brings dead bodies back to life by giving them back their souls at the time of resurrection. He gives life to hearts by the light of knowledge. He sends rain to make a barren land quicken and become fertile. The life-giver is one of God’s attributes of action confirmed in the Qur'an and the sunnah, but it is not one of his names.
