الوهاب
كلمة (الوهاب) في اللغة صيغة مبالغة على وزن (فعّال) مشتق من الفعل...
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not ask me unnecessarily about what I did not mention to you. Verily, what destroyed those who were before you was their asking too many questions and their disagreement with their Prophets. So, if I forbid you from something, then avoid it; and if I command you to do something, then do as much of it as you can."
The Companions (may Allah be pleased with him) used to ask the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about things that might not be unlawful, but that become unlawful because of their asking about it, or about things that might not be obligatory, but that become obligatory because of their asking about it. So the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them not to ask about what he did not speak about, as long as he did not order them or forbid them in this regard. Then he justified this by saying that the previous nations used to ask their prophets too many questions, so things were made more difficult for them just as they made things difficult for themselves, and then they disagreed with their prophets. Then he ordered us to avoid what he forbade us from and to do what he ordered us to do as much as we can, and we are exempted from what we are not able to do.
