Jubayr ibn Mut‘im (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who severs the ties of kinship will not enter Paradise."

شرح الحديث :

The Hadīth is an evidence on the prohibition of severing the kinship ties, and that it is one of the major sins. The Hadīth refers to a certain negation of entry which is not preceded by punishment, not the denial of entry altogether. This is because the one who severs the kinship ties is not a disbeliever for whom Paradise is forbidden; rather, he shall definitely enter Paradise as long as he believes in the Oneness of Allah. However, his entry will be preceded by punishment commensurate with his sins.
