Abu Yahya Khuraym ibn Fātik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever makes a contribution in the cause of Allah will have his reward seven-hundred times recorded to his credit."

شرح الحديث :

The Hadīth highlights the virtue of spending in the cause of Allah and states that one receives reward multiplied seven-hundred times for what he spends. This in fact agrees with what Allah, the Almighty, said in the Qur'an: ﴿The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed (of grain) which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies (His reward) for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.﴾ [Sūrat al-Baqarah: 261]
