Surāqah ibn Ja‘sham (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) taught us that when we answer the call of nature, we should lean on our left leg and keep the right one elevated.
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) clarifies in this Hadīth one of the manners to be observed while answering the call of nature; and that is putting one's weight on one’s left leg and leaning toward this side while elevating the right leg. This Hadīth is Munkar, however, and so it is not part of the Shariah to observe this ethic.
