Intangible benefit obtained from using things, such as living in houses and the like.
"Manfa‘ah" (benefit) is every benefit obtained from something, such as riding an animal, wearing a garment, getting a job done by someone, and so on. It does not include the tangible and material benefits such as the milk, the animal’s offspring, or the fruit of a tree. These things are called "ghallah" (produce) and "fā’idah" (interest).
"Manfa‘ah": benefit. Opposite: "madarrah" (harm). Original meaning: goodness, anything used to attain a goal. Other meanings: interest, fruit.
