المعنى الاصطلاحي
The person who is represented by another to act on his behalf, and he is the one affected by the outcome of this representation.
الشرح المختصر
"Aseel" (principal) is an individual or a group of people on whose behalf another one acts in matters in which agency, whether private or public, is accepted. The consequences of that agency are borne by the "aseel", who is also called "muwakkil" and "mufawwid" and has other names as well.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
"Aseel" (pl. usool, āsāl): something that has an origin. Derived from "asl", (pl.which usool): means origin and foundation of something. "Aseel" (pl. usul, āsāl) means: the time between ‘Asr and Maghrib prayers. Other meanings: firm, cohesive, precise, severe, pure.
