المعنى الاصطلاحي :


Everything that is edible and sustains the body.

الشرح المختصر :


"At‘imah" (foods) are everything that people are accustomed to eating, whether for the purpose of nutrition, such as wheat and water; as a condiment, such as oil; for enjoyment, such as fruits; or for medical treatment and health, such as black seed and salt. "At‘imah" are of two types: 1. Animal source "at‘imah". These come from two sources: a. Sea animals (seafood). b. Land animals. 2. Non-animal source "at‘imah".

"At‘imah" (sing. ta‘aam): foods; everything that is eaten in general and nourishes the body.
