الشرح المختصر
"Ighlāl" (misappropriation) is breach of trust, whether in public or private funds. It takes different forms, such as seizing Muslims' public funds illegally, stealing from the Zakah money, stealing the bonuses of laborers and employees, or embezzling state funds, etc.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
"Ighlāl": betrayal esp. secret betrayal. "Ghulool" and "ighlāl": stealing from the war booty. It is derived from "ghall", which means permeating into something and hiding therein, preventing. "Ghull": handcuffs or collar.
