المعنى الاصطلاحي :

Touching the Black Stone with the hand or kissing it with the lips.

الشرح المختصر :

"Istilām" (touching the Black Stone) is when a person touches the Black Stone or the Yemeni Corner of the Ka‘bah with his hand, stick, or the like. The Black stone is unique for it can also be touched with the lips by kissing it.

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :

"Istilām": it is derived from "istalama", which means touching with the hand or mouth. It is also derived from the "salām", i.e. the greeting.
