"‘Uboos" (frowning) is from the blameworthy morals that contradicts good companionship among people. It contains both arrogance and harshness. Lack of cheerfulness, smiling, joy, as well as welcome reflect underestimation of people; are all because of self-conceit and arrogance. Harms of "‘uboos": 1. It is a characteristic that is disliked by Allah the Almighty and people. 2. It drives people away, even one"s relatives and family members. 3. It leads to arrogance, vanity, and haughtiness. 4. It makes people, especially the poor ones, feel miserable. 5. It is a cause of distress, sorrow, and lack of happiness.
"‘Uboos": frowning, expression on the face to show sadness or dislike. Original meaning: showing dislike. It is derived from "‘abas" which means the leftover feces that dries upon the tail of the camel. Other meanings: severity, scowling, surliness, gloominess.
