الأحد
كلمة (الأحد) في اللغة لها معنيانِ؛ أحدهما: أولُ العَدَد،...
Anything that covers the body or part of it, whether made of wool, leather or the like.
The main purpose of "libās" (clothing) in Islam is to cover the Muslim's ‘Awrah (the must-cover body parts), adorn him, protect him from heat and cold, preserve his dignity, and display Allah's favor on him. Clothing is of two types: 1. Clothing for men: it must be loose-fitting and not tight nor transparent, nor should it resemble the clothing of the disbelievers that is peculiar to them. 2. Clothing for women: it must meet the following conditions: it must cover the entire body, it must be loose-fitting not tight nor transparent nor decorated, nor should it resemble the clothing of the disbelievers or of men that is peculiar to them. There are manners and special supplications for dressing, such as starting with the right side when getting dressed and with the left side when getting undressed, saying "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah) when dressing and undressing, saying "Alhamdulillah alladhī kasānī hadha wa razaqanīhi min ghayri hawlin minnī wala quwwah (all praise is due to Allah who has dressed me in this and provided me with it without any ability or power on my side), in addition to other supplications.
"Libās": clothing; what covers the body and conceals it. It is derived from "labs", which means mixing, because it mixes with the body.
