الشرح المختصر :

Belief in fate is one of the great pillars of Islam and the foundation of happiness in this world and in the afterlife. It means the firm belief that all good and evil occur according to the decree of Allah and His estimation. This includes four things: 1. Belief that Allah the Almighty knew everything, generally and in detail, from the beginning to the end, whether related to His actions or the actions of His slaves. 2. Belief that Allah the Almighty wrote everything He knew in advance up until the Day of Judgment in the Preserved Tablet, and this was the first writing. It is followed by other writings such as decreeing one's lifespan, which is writing everything that occurs in one's life up until his death. Then comes the yearly decree that occurs on the ‘Night of Decree’ every year, and the daily decree, when Allah writes for His slaves on a daily basis, whether richness or poverty, life or death, etc. 3. Belief in Allah’s effective will and His comprehensive ability, as nothing occurs except with Allah’s will, whether related to Allah’s actions or the actions of His creatures. 4. Belief that everything in existence is created by Allah the Almighty, with their essences, their attributes, and their movements, and that everything other than Allah is created and brought from non-existence to existence. From the benefits of belief in fate are: 1. Fulfilment of Allah’s monotheism and His obedience in times of hardship and ease. 2. Patience and seeking reward from Allah while facing difficulties and dangers. 3. Having good expectations of Allah, while having strong hope and reliance upon Him and fearing His punishment. 4. Not objecting to Allah’s religious legislations and His universal decree. 5. Happiness in this world and the hereafter through content, delight, and tranquility in one’s soul regarding Allah’s rulings. Everyone has a free will and ability with which he chooses to do something or not to do. If he wants to perform ablution and pray, he can and if he wants to be dissolute and commit adultery he can. For this reason he is held accountable and either rewarded or punished. It is not permissible for one to use fate as an excuse for abandoning obligations or committing prohibitions.
