التعريف :


A container in which something is put, such as food, drink, etc.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


Any container that is made to use for cleaning, eating, or drinking, etc.

الشرح المختصر :


"Āniyah" (utensils): They could be divided into three sections: First: Food utensils; which are of many types: 1- Cooking utensils: such as "qidr" (pot) and "burmah" which is a pot made of stone. 2- Serving utensils: like "qas‘ah" (bowl), "jafnah" (a big bowl), "sahfah" (a wooden bowl) and "tabaq" (dish) which is a small utensil used for eating. Second: Drink utensils; which are of different types, some of which are used for drinking like "ibreeq" (jug) which is a utensil made of metal and has a handle and a mouth, "qadah" (a utensil that is sufficient for up to two or three persons to drink), "ka’s" (a full vessel), and "koob" (a small round vessel without a handle). Third: Storing Utensils; used for storing liquids like a "jarrah" (a large container made of earthenware), "qullah" ( a large "jarrah"), "qirbah" (a water skin that is opened from one side only), "dalw" (a vessel used for drawing water), "sajl" (a large dalw), and "qārūrah" (a vessel made of glass).

التعريف اللغوي المختصر :


"Āniyah" (sing. inā’): container, any utensil that contains something else. Derived from "inā’", which means reaching and catching up with something.
