Having several names referring to a single entity.
"Taraaduf" (synonymy) refers to the case where several words share one meaning, or when a single entity has several names. The names of Allah Almighty represent an example of that. They are proper names as well as descriptions; proper names when considering their indication of the divine essence, and descriptions when considering their indication of meanings. Regarding the first consideration, they are synonymous, since they refer to one entity, Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He. According to the second consideration, however, they are not synonymous.
"Taraaduf": succession and sequence. The "taraduf" of two words refers to their having the same meaning.
