التعريف :


That two things are mutually contradictory which means that they cannot coexist nor remove each other.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :


It is when the plaintiff or the witness says what necessitates invalidating his former statement, whether related to the rights of Allah or to the rights of people.

الشرح المختصر :


"Tanāqud" (contradictory statement) is that the plaintiff or the witness says something that necessitates the invalidity of his claim or testimony, whether this relates to the rights of Allah Almighty, like admitting fornication and then denying it, or to the rights of people, like claiming that someone borrowed from him then denying it.
