Knowing something through one of the senses, such as sensing that one’s ritual purification has been nullified, through smell, touch or the like.
"Ihsās" (sensing) in the general sense, is one of the categories of perception. It means knowing something through one of the five internal or external senses. If perception is made through an external sense, it is called "mushāhadah" (witnessing), and if it is made through an internal sense, it is called "wijdān" (feeling/sentiment). Of the forms of sensing is to feel nullity of the minor purification such as rumble or smell of passing wind or the like, while nothing has exited from him; so he doesn't have to make ablution until he hears a sound or finds a smell.
"Ihsās": perceiving something and learning about it through the five senses, namely: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.
A dominant feeling that results from an external material or mental influence.
