"Ihyaa' al-layl" (night worship) is a great and glorious act of worship. Its excellence multiplies in line with the excellence of time and place when and where it is done. It is carried out by offering acts of worship in the last third of the night. It is said that the meant time is the last hour of the night, and it is also said that it is to offer the ‘Isha' (night) prayer and the Fajr (dawn) prayer in congregation. The meaning that is more founded is that it means offering worship for most of the night hours. As for engaging in worship for the entire duration of the night on a regular basis is not legislated.
