التعريف :
To preserve something lest it should be lost or ruined.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
The ability to store information in your brain and to recall it at any time.
الشرح المختصر :
"Hifzh" (memorizing) is the ability within a person to memorize images, perceptions, and information and to recall them at any time, whereby they remain present at all times. This is like memorizing Surat-ul-Faatihah for the prayer and reciting it. Memorization is for words and may be for meanings as well.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Hifzh": protecting, caring, paying attention. Opposite: wasting, neglecting, forgetting, being heedless. Other meanings: keeping, maintaining, preserving, observing, taking precautions.
