The One who protects and maintains what He has created, and the One whose knowledge encompasses what He has originated and decreed.
Al-Hafeezh (Protector) is one of the beautiful names of Allah which He has called Himself in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Allah, from above His throne, is the protector and absolutely perfect in protecting everything. Types of Allah's protection: 1. General: It is protection that covers all the creatures, such as His protection of the heavens and earth and His protection of the humans, the Jinn, and all kinds of animals. This takes place by fulfilling and facilitating their needs in this life and pushing away harm from them. General protection also includes preserving the good and evil deeds of His slaves and recording them in the Preserved Tablet and the Angels' sheets. 2. Unique: It is protection of His righteous slaves from sins and trials and driving harm away from them. Protecting the Qur'an from distortion and loss falls under this type. Indications of Allah’s name "Al-Hafeezh": 1. It indicates the holy essence of Allah. 2. It indicates the attribution of protection to Allah. 3. It indicates life, sustaining all the existence, hearing, seeing, knowledge, omnipotence, power and other attributes of perfection. Allah the Almighty is asked by His name "Al-Hafeezh" in supplication, such as saying: "O Allah, protect me," and in worship, like praying with the intention of seeking Allah's protection from evils. Benefits of believing in this name: 1. Relying on Allah and seeking relief from Him in all small and big matters. 2. The obligation of fearing Allah and observing His rights, and the greatest right of Allah is worshiping Him alone, then praying, and so on. 3. Keeping one’s limbs and heart away from sins.
"Al-Hafeezh": the one who is protecting. "Hifzh": looking after something, protecting it from damage and loss. Other meanings: correcting, maintaining something and not ignoring or forgetting it, observing, guarding.
The one who saves his servants from all dangers, and who records the statements and deeds of his servants, knows their intentions and nothing escapes his knowledge. It is one of the fine names of God.
