A man imitating feminine characteristics.
"Khunoothah" or "takhannuth" is a despicable trait and one of the grave major sins, since it involves changing the creation of Allah. It refers to man's behaving in a womanish manner until he resembles a woman and imitates her in softness, speech, looks and actions, regardless of whether or not he commits the immoral act of homosexuality. Effeminacy is two categories: 1. Involuntary congenital effeminacy: it is due to a defect in one's body cells, etc. 2. Voluntary effeminacy: it is due to man's affected attitude, imitating women in their movements and speech by his own choice. Some of the harms of effeminacy: 1. A sign of the downfall of manhood and the absence of religion. 2. Contradiction of sound, innate human nature, and a means to dangerous societal corruptions. 3. Brings about the anger of Allah, and the displeasure of His Messenger, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. 4. One of the grave major sins that prevents the person from entering Paradise in the first place. 5. The effeminate has no value in the Islamic society. 6. Increase in immorality and the spread of fornication and sodomy.
"Khunoothah" and "takhannuth": being effeminate. "Mukhannath" is a man who behaves in a womanish manner. "Khunoothah" comes from "inkhinaath", which means delicacy and softness. "Mukhannath" is the soft and flaccid, and it could be used as a description for both males and females . "Khuntha" is a person with male and female reproductive organs. It is also said that "mukhannath" is the one who commits the most vicious evil.
A case of being neither male nor female. The one who has it may have the sexual organs of both male and female, or neither, or may be rather ambiguous.
