المعنى الاصطلاحي
The tool that is used to clean the mouth, such as the twig of the "arāk" tree and so forth.
الشرح المختصر
"Siwāk" (teeth-brushing twig) is the name of the stick used to clean the teeth. "Istiyāk" (cleaning the teeth) is achieved by using any coarse object that is fit for removing food remains and the unpleasant odor from the mouth, such as the twig of the "arāk" tree or the olive tree or the like, on the condition that it is not harmful.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
"Siwāk": small twig used for brushing one's teeth. It is derived from "sawk", which means inclining, moving. Other meanings: brushing, rubbing.
