التعريف :

Giving a false testimony in front of a judge, stating something that is contrary to the truth.

المعنى الاصطلاحي :

Giving false testimony deliberately in order to achieve an unlawful purpose.

الشرح المختصر :

"Shahādat az-zoor" (perjury) means to intentionally give false information with the aim of achieving an unlawful purpose, whether under oath or not, such as a testimony that leads to the execution of a person, to seizing wealth, to making lawful what is unlawful or vice versa, and so on. The one who gives false testimony commits four tremendous sins: 1. Lying and fabrication. 2. Doing injustice to the one against whom he gave false testimony by transgressing by means of it against his money, honor, and life. 3. Doing injustice to the one in whose favor he gave false testimony by making unlawful wealth accessible to him. 4. Deeming as lawful what Allah, the Exalted, has deemed prohibited.
