المعنى الاصطلاحي

Special obscure lines and writings that have to do with planets and orbits, used by sorcerers and followers of some (false) beliefs to bring about benefit or ward off harm.

الشرح المختصر

A "tilsam" (talisman) is a type of sorcery and astrology which is written for the purpose of bringing love or hatred or other purposes, wherein devils assume the forms of the stars' spiritual qualities so as to exercise influence on terrestrial occurrences. "Tilsams" involve glorification and worship of the jinn in order to receive their assistance, along with believing that the action and influence come from the stars. Those who use "tilsams" believe that what appears to them of the forms and words of the jinn are actually the spirits of the stars talking to them. This practice makes them ignorant perpetrators of polytheism.
