المعنى الاصطلاحي :

Extremely offensive words and deeds

الشرح المختصر :

“Fuhsh” is any word or action that is extremely offensive. This includes anything that is naturally disliked of visible vices, what the mind denounces, and what religion considers foul; thus, there is agreement between religion, mind, and natural disposition regarding its evil and ugliness. All "fuhsh" is blameworthy and is not from the morals of the believers. It is motivated either by an intention to harm others, or by one’s evil soul and being accustomed to that as a result of mixing with wicked and immoral people. Forms of "fuhsh": 1. Ugly traits such as lying, cursing, giving false testimony, backbiting, talebearing, and slander. 2. Despicable deeds such as fornication, homosexuality, etc. 3. Explicit mention of normally concealed matters, such as sexual intercourse, or offensive matters such as feces. 4. Accusing Muslim men or women of committing immorality. 5. Exposing "‘Awrah" (the must-cover body parts) in front of foreign people (non-Mahram). Some of the negative effects of "fuhsh": 1.The obscene person deserves punishment from Allah in this life and in the Afterlife. 2. The obscene person is not close to people as they avoid him in fear of his evil tongue and actions. 3. "Fuhsh" is one of the signs of hypocrisy and not from the traits of the true believer. 4. The excessively obscene person is detested by Allah and by people.
