"Qā’id" (army leader) is the army commander, who conducts war, runs battles, divides booty, makes peace, declares truce, dispatches detachments and pathfinders, and releases Muslim captives, in addition to being in charge of other war affairs.
"Qā’id": someone who is at the front, ahead of others, and guides them in their march. Opposite: "sā’iq" (one who walks behind others and steers them). Other meanings: army commander.
A person who uses his influence and power, as well as all his authority to influence the behaviour and disposition of individuals in order to achieve defined objectives.
