The meeting place to conduct a sale contract.
"Majlis al-‘aqd" (contract session/meeting) is the meeting held to conclude a sale contract. The "majlis" varies according to the state of the contracting parties, the contract nature, and the manner of concluding the contract. The "majlis al-‘aqd", for instance, in case of the presence of the contracting parties is different from that in case of their absence. Moreover, the "majlis al-‘aqd" in case of making the offer and accepting it verbally is different from that in case of making them written. When the contracting parties are present, "majlis al-‘aqd" is made up of three elements: 1. Place. 2. Time. 3. State of the contracting parties in terms of meeting and parting. However, when the contracting parties are absent, "majlis al-‘aqd" occurs by writing, sending a messenger, or the like. If someone, for instance, wrote to another one: "I sold you my house for such-and-such," and the latter received the message and accepted the offer, then the sale contract would be concluded.
