The general meaning of "mahabbah" (love) is the inclination of the self to something pleasant, and it is of three types: 1. "Mahabbah" for pleasure, such as the man's love for the woman. 2. "Mahabbah" for benefit, such as loving something that one benefits from. 3. "Mahabbah" for virtue, such as the mutual love of the people of knowledge because of the knowledge.
"Mahabbah": love, inclination to something pleasant. Opposite: "bughd" (hate).
To incline to what gives pleasure. It is the opposite of hatred.
