A wooden musical instrument in the shape of a tube with holes along its length and an opening at each end. The flute player blows into the opening to produce sounds.
الشرح المختصر
The "mizmār" (flute) is a musical wind instrument in the form of a wooden pipe or tube. It has two openings on both sides and a hole on the top and the bottom. When air is blown into one of the two holes, a musical sound is produced. "Mazāmeer" (pl. of mizmār) are of two types: single reed and double reed. Music means the sounds produced by instruments such as the lute, flute, drum, and so on. The tambourine is not included in such instruments, except in certain cases.
