آداب الجهاد
‘Uqbah ibn ‘Āmir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Many lands shall be laid open to you, and Allah will suffice you (against your enemies), but none of you should give up playing with his arrows (practicing archery)."
عن عقبة بن عامر -رضي الله عنه- سمعت رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- يقول: «سَتُفْتَحُ عليكم أَرَضُونَ، ويكفيكم الله، فلا يعجز أحدكم أن يلَهْوُ بأَسْهُمِهِ».
شرح الحديث :
This Hadīth encourages the Muslim to learn archery and practice it, even in times when it is not needed. This is because archery is among the reasons that bring about victory from Allah as well as sufficiency and sustenance for the Muslims.
