المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Single (spouseless) men or women, regardless of whether they were previously married or not.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Ayāma" (sing. ayyim): a man or a woman who has no spouse, regardless of whether they were previously married. Derived from "aym", which means lacking something internally, but not externally. An unmarried woman is called "ayyim" because she lacks something in the sense that she does not have a husband.
