Standing up on the ground in an upright position.
الشرح المختصر :
"Qiyām" is an action-related pillar of prayer. It is to stand in an upright position on the feet, without leaning forward or backward, to the right or to the left; except for an excuse, e.g. if someone is sick, so, he may lean on a wall or so.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Qiyām": standing up, upright position. Opposite: "juloos" (sitting). Other meanings: preservation, reformation.
