التعريف :
To take what is sufficient and avoid excess.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Approaching something moderately and gently in a way that makes it possible for one to practice it constantly.
الشرح المختصر :
"Iqtisād" (moderation) is midway between excessiveness and negligence, and (means) behaving moderately without excess or default. It could also mean taking a middle course between two extremes. The religion ordained by Allah, the Almighty, falls in a middle way between the extremist and negligent. It is known that the creed of Ahl-us-Sunnah wa al-Jamā‘ah is a moderate creed that lies between those of the people of extremism and negligence.
