التعريف :
To circulate among people what is harmful to an individual or a group.
المعنى الاصطلاحي :
Exposing a person's faults by the ruler and announcing that to the people out of reprimand for that person and those like him.
الشرح المختصر :
"Tashheer" (exposing/defaming) means revealing a person's faults, thus exposing him and sullying his reputation among the people; e.g. taking someone to the markets and streets in order to censure and punish him.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر :
"Tashheer": derived from "shahhara", which means exposed, defamed, slandered, announced, revealed, declared. "Shuhrah": something appearing and being clear.
